Catchin Up

Christmas was amazing. The best one ever, for sure. Grandmas house was a blast, won $100 in bingo :-), got a nice little massage chair from the white elephant, battle of the sexes, drank and lit grass on fire around the bonfire, chilled with cousins. Quite the holiday. Got some useful stuff: Clothes, sushi stuff, books, jerky, jewelry box, headphones, and all sorts of good things :-)

Celebrated Matt's birthday yesterday. Went into Austin and shopped around, ate, went bowling ( I kicked his ass.. of course) and played board games. Good times as always.

Cant wait for New Years Eve :-)

Winter Break

So its been a week of winter break. Pretty uneventful since I've been done. Watched Harry Potter movies and made a gingerbread house with Kristen all last week. Flew home Saturday. Been sitting around since. Met up with Matt in San Antonio the other day, that was fun. Went shopping around with mom, finally got my hair cut, ate lunch. Good bonding time :-)

Lots of parties to go to this week. MVFD tomorrow, then goin out with Savanna after, Matt and Tonya's on Friday, then goin to Matt's house for a weekend of movies and god knows what else. Should be fun :-)

Grades came in today. Got 4 x 4.0's and 2 x 3.5's to make my overall GPA a 3.37. Pretty good semester. Could have gotten all 4.0's, but oh well. Still climbing to that 3.5 GPA by graduation. Hopefully gonna get it. Next semester should be good.

Brady Black of Randy Rogers Band

Thanksgiving break was amazing. The exact vacation that I needed. Got in on Wednesday, went straight down to grandmas house, chilled and talked to the family all night. Turkey Day was delicious, minus the fact that there wasn't enough stuffing. Other than that, it was pretty damn good. Went out with some cousins after, clubbing in Corpus Christi. It was pretty fun even tho there were only a few people in the club. People got drunk, danced. Overall good time.
Friday was Eric's football game. I love Texas high school football games. Same atmosphere as college. Incredible. Too bad they lost. Oh well. He's still one of the greatest QB's in Texas right now. Hopefully he goes to a big school.
Matt came up on Friday.. felt like its been years since I've seen him. :-( It's all good tho. Saturday was amazing. Went to San Antonio for the night. Had sushi, watched Madagascar 2, then went to the Randy Rogers Concert. It was one of the best days I've ever had :-)
Stayed the night in S.A., then left early Sunday morning. It was one exciting vacation, that's for sure.

One week and 3 days till I'm back home again... For now, it's study time :-(

Avenged Sevenfold, Buckcherry, Shinedown, Saving Abel... What a badass concert! Definitely ranked in my top 3 of all time. Nothing quite like moshing and crowd surfing on a Friday night. Amazing!!

A few days till turkey day vaca.. way pumped for it! Can't wait to see the whole fam, eat some great food, watch Eric play some quality Texas Friday Night Football, see Matt and go to the Randy Rogers Concert. Gonna be one hell of a much needed break, that's for sure.

Finals start the week after, then home free till Jan 12th. Wooo!

3 weeks...

Just had a really weird November week in terms of weather.. 70s and sunny? I sure as hell wasn't complaining :-) But now its going back to the norm.. 40s and shit.

Getting a lot of shit done in class. Presentations, projects and papers are starting, got a lot on my plate. The semester went by slowly, but kinda quick at the same time. Idk. It was a weird one.

Already started a lot of my Christmas shopping.. I'm trying to be preemptive this year and get stuff bought earlier.

I can't wait until Thanksgiving. Actually, that's an understatement. 3 weeks... I feel like I haven't seen Matt in forever. Sucks. But at least we'll spend one amazing day and night together before I go back to State. Wooo Randy Rogers! Also very pumped to see Nick. I miss my boys :-(

Anyhoot. Time to get the house ready for tailgate tomorrow. Last home football game of the season.. LET'S GO STATE!!

Been a month..

Well its been a month since my last post..

Been super busy with school and lacrosse. Project after project.. ridiculous. One major project happening tomorrow, Save the Trails. Its about time this damn program ends. Hopefully things go well for us.

U of M game was sweet since we won. Haha. First time winning at the Big House since 1990. Feels good to finally have a sweet football team this year. Played Wisconsin today, beat them in the last second with a field goal. Awesome. Next week is Purdue, then Penn State. Projected to beat Purdue, but Penn State is a powerhouse this year. Should be a good game. GO GREEN!

Lax is over for fall ball, thank god. Now I will have a little more time on my hands to sit and relax maybe.

Halloween sucked as usual. Figured it would. Hence why I'm not going out tonight and instead watching football.

OK. Time to go watch Texas Tech vs University of Texas... GO TECH!

Been quite a while. I sometimes forget that I even have this thing...

School is rolling along. Have projects up the ass tho, so that sucks. Been kinda blah lately with all of this. Dont know if I can ceep up with this 18 credit semester, but I'll sure as hell try.

Football game this past weekend was terrible. Rain, rain, rain. got around 9 inches? idk. River rose a lot though, and started flooding some parts. At least we won the game..
This weekend is Notre Lame. Yay for 3:30 games! Cookin up a nice brisket on Friday for the tailgate on Saturday. Should be PERFECT football weather. I'm pumped! GO STATE!

Goin to visit Matt next weekend. Kinda spur of the moment, but w/e. I need to get out of here before I shoot someone. :-) So yes, I'm mucho excited about it. Goin up to Waco and partyin w/ all the guys. Should be a great time!

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

Labor day weekend was ok. Went to RI to visit the fam for Poppa's 80th birthday party. It was good seeing everyone for that short time. Yeahhh thats about it.

Well.. classes blow. At least there are a good group of us with all the same classes, so whatever projects we have to do, we'll just do them together. Easy and convenient.

Nick left for TBS on Thursday. 6 months till he can come back home again. Sucks. At least we get to talk to him more than once a week tho, and we can visit him/he can visit us, so that will be good. But still.. 6 months. That's a damn long time. Not to mention the 2 years he'll be in flight school... Dont even wanna think about it.

Speaking of distance, I think I'm just now realizing how hard it is gonna be without seeing Matt till Thanksgiving Break... It's only been 2 weeks since he left, but seems like 2 months. Hopefully as more stuff gets thrown on my plate, the time will seem to go by quicker. Hopefully...

It's probably a jynx to say that I'm pretty damn happy with my life right now... so I'll knock on wood.

Welcome Week

Well the drive up here was pretty good. Long, but it all worked out. Stayed with Ben the first night, then Tom and Jess the second night.

Welcome Week was quite the week. Partied non-stop all week.. definitely how a welcome week should be. Met all the neighbors, had a shit ton of fun, got pretty drunk every night, and Matt was here, which made it 100 times better :-) There's nothing quite like beer pong and slip n slide in the rain. A welcome week to remember for sure.

Classes officially started yesterday. Seem ok. Barely any exams, but a shit ton of projects and group projects. Good thing I have the same people in all of my classes, so we can all work together at one time and get it done. 18 credits is gonna be a killerrr. 2 finals so far, not too shabby.

RI this weekend.. or a day. Whatev. Should be good to see the cousins and gparents I guess. Although I could think of many other ways to spend my Labor Day weekend..

Last few days...

Quantico was quite the trip. The ceremony was awesome!! Unlike anything you've ever seen before. The precision and how in-sync they all were when they marched during the parade was incredible. Took tons of pics! The actual graduation ceremony was sweet too. The second highest ranked General in the Marines gave the speech. Afterwords he shook all their hands, Nick was the first one, front row, and he looked like he was star-struck. Haha. So yeah, now he's a 2nd Lt and pretty damn excited about it.

Went out with old friends a few days ago. Dinner and the bar, just like old times. Good talks, good drinks, and good times.

Leaving in 2 days for MI. I'm pumped. Actually, I'm really excited to spend some quality time with Matt.. 3 days in a car.. what could be a better test to a relationship? Haha. Also just as excited to see everyone again and move in to our new (old) house! Wahooo! Saturday couldn't come quick enough.

Last few weeks...

I love not having an actual schedule that I have to stick to. I was planning on staying in Waco only till Sunday, and ended up staying until Wednesday. I just didn't want to go home. Never saw the point of sitting around my house by myself when I could be wasting time with the boy and his friends, actually having a social life for the few remaining days of summer vacation. It was quite the vacation indeed. BBQs, cheap 50 cent movies, partying, cajun food, Worms, just some good ol' fashioned relaxation. Great way to end the summer.

Leaving tomorrow for Virginia to see Nick graduate from OCS. It's wild, really, cuz as much as I want to think he's going to be the same old Nick, he's probably going to be completely different. So after 10 weeks of training and 10 pounds added on to him, I'm looking forward to seeing him again.

After I get back from VA, its on to packing, then leaving for MI next Saturday with Matt. Crazy.

Where did the summer go?

6 months!?

Just got back from a weekend in Houston. Great times surfing at the beach. Getting a lot better, thats for sure. Starting to surf the bigger waves.. ooooh yeah! haha. Finally saw the beach after 2 years?.. Either way its been toooooo long!

Goin to Waco from Wed - Sun to celebrate our 6 month. Crazyyy. Cant believe its been 6 already! What a ride.

Yup, then next weekend its Nicks graduation from OCS, then a week off, then start driving home w/ Matt. This summer has been so short, or so it seemed short. I dont even want to think about packing yet.. my car is gonna be full. Hopefully it will make it!

Anyhoot, time to go finish my paper and layout some more. Yay pool!

WOOO!! is it bad that I'm ecstatic to be fired from this job?! HELL YEAH! haha
I made $2500 this summer by waking up early, sitting on my ass all day, yelling at kids, and eating. Easy money. Could have made $3o00, but oh well, thats the way the cookie crumbled this time. All in all, I hated the experience, and it probably will not be going on my resume when I apply for jobs in the future. It was only good for college credit, and thats about it.

Anyhoot. Matt's coming here this weekend :-) Should be a grand ol' time consisting of laying out by the pool, drinking, bar, maybe a movie?, then some swimming in the river if all goes well. 6 months is right around the corner... this is quite the accomplishment for me, considering I usually get sick of guys after the first month or so.. haha. Must be something about him that I just can't resist ;-)

Cheers to not having to wake up at 5:40 anymore this summer, getting splitting headaches listening to kids scream and complain, and getting bitched at by the boss!

Happy 4th!

Had a pretty good 4th this year. Went up to JC and spent it with Matt and his friends. Went to a party, drank a lot, didn't feel a thing tho. It's weird how that happens. Oh well. The rest of the weekend consisted of Lone Star, naps, IKEA trip in Austin, Justin... ohhh Justin, and just good ol' relaxing. Felt good after a long week. 4 more to go!
Wisdom teeth get taken out on Friday.. gonna look like a high chipmunk for the weekend. Exciting. haha
Finally got some rain around here. I swear if you lit a match and threw it on the ground, the whole state of Texas would catch fire and disappear. Crazy dry.

What a weekend.

Had a pretty badass weekend I must say. Went up to JC on Friday after work, hung out with Matt. Saturday we went to New Braunfels and went tubing on the Guadalupe River and to the Randy Rogers Band concert. Mannn was that fun!
So we get there, it looks a little cloudy, but no big deal. So we get our tubes and go down to the river. The water is literally 20 degrees. Freeeezing! But we man up to it and jump in, and start our adventure of beer drinking and tubing. About 30 minutes later, it starts to pour down freezing cold rain, thunderstorm, high winds and whatnot. Luckily we were by a pretty big tree at that point, so we decide to huddle underneath it to keep somewhat warm. Well that didn't do much, so we swam across the river and ended up walkin back to the truck. So needless to say, that was quite the adventure..
Then by the time we got back and dry, the bands started playin so we tailgated, of course. Micky and the Motorcars, Ryan Bingham and the Dead Horses and Randy were by far the best bands there. Awesome concert. Right there up front.. too bad we didnt have a camera :-(
Great time, great weekend.

It's hot.

Wake up at 5:45 am, be at work by 7:30 am, work till 5:30 pm, come home, eat dinner, shit around for an hour or two, then go to bed.
Quite the summer I'm having. Kids are more quiet this week, thank god. The hardest week is over.. the rest of the weeks should be fairly easy. Yay for easy money!

Goin to New Braunfels this weekend w/ Matt to go tubing and the "Sake of the Song" concerts/riverfest w/ Randy Rogers Band. Cant wait! Should be a great time. A nice relaxing getaway from work, thats for sure. Whats better than getting drunk, floating down a river, while listening to a concert with the boy? Not much. :-)

Crazy thinking its been a month and a half of summer so far. Exactly 2 months left. Gonna be long, thats for sure.

Amazing weekend.

Had an amazing weekend with the boy. Just what I needed before dealing with little kids for the next 8 weeks of my life. Went fishing, bbq, music, beer, swimming, and tons of fun in the sun. Always an adventure. Felt like a vacation :-) Being with him always feels like a vacation, away from reality and everyday life. Thats how it should be.

Tomorrow my life is over during the weekdays. Camp starts.. that means waking up at 6 everyday, and working till 6 at night. Talk about a huge paycheck :-$. Ballin. Not goin to the bar ever, so the only thing I'll be spending my money on is...gas? If that. Yay for raking in the cash!

Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend was a success. Tons of people, food, drinks, paintball, sweat, and sun for the entire summer, all crammed into one weekend. Awesome. Not to mention some of the best friends in the world who visited :-)

Birthday was good. Got an amp for the guitar, sounds sweeeeet! Now I just have to get good... in time...

Got an internship at the Kerrville-Schriener park for the summer. Camp counselor for the kids day camp all summer. Gonna make bank for sure, and mostly all of it will be saved cuz I have nothing to spend my money. Sweeeet.

Tryin to see Matt at least once a week. Hard to do cuz of the work schedule, his work and school schedule. Blah. Still can't believe its been 4 months already :-) Woo!

Thats really about it. Tan and ready to start getting back into shape/eating healthy.

Summer 08

Been a while.

Finals went amazingly. Got 3 - 4.0's, a 3.5 and a 3.0. Now an overall GPA of 3.23. Not too shabby.
The drive down sucked ass. Stopped in Louisville and partied w/ Jillian for the night, then drove 14 hours by myself the next day to Waco. Been 2 months since I've seen Matt. Needless to say it was a great reunion. :-) Cant wait to see him again next weekend!
Denver could have gone better, but at least we won a game. So now we're ranked 15th in the nation. So excited for next year cuz Bill is coaching. We can definitely have the potential to win big. Yay!

I swear this week has been inching along. And it's all because of this weekend and how anxious I am to drive to Waco and see Matt. Why can't it just be like any other week this past year and fly by? Of course not. One more final on Friday, tons of shit to do before we drive on Saturday. Gonna be a crazy rest of the week indeed. I am beyond ready for this finals week to be over tho. So sick of studying while everyone else is starting their summer already. Bullshit. :-(

What a weekend. Blew it majorly in St. Louis. Won 2, lost 3. Probably not going to nationals now, oh well. It was as if we wanted to sabotage this season in hopes to get rid of Bob.. doubt it will work tho. We'll fire him. Playoffs are next weekend, our last chance to make it. If we lose a game, we lose the season and our bid to nationals. No nationals means getting to leave Michigan earlier and starting my summer.. tempting. Haha

2 weeks of class left, then finals week. Figured out my schedule for this year and next year.. gonna have an easy senior year for sure. Pumped!

Cedar Fest Riots 2008

Ridiculous times in Cedar Village on Saturday. Thousands of drunk people gathering in the streets always has a bad result. 3-4000, 80 police officers, 52 arrests, 24 smoke grenades, 20 flash-bang grenades, 20 stingball grenades, 13 rounds of tear gas, and 4 fires.

Lost the camera once again. Whole crowd turned into a mosh pit, it was sick!! Nick and I were in and out the whole night. It was badass.

Girls got ontop of peoples shoulders, make out, then a chant "show us your tits!" would start, they would, then 2 seconds later the SWAT team would be arresting them for indecent exposure. Hahaha sucks to be them!

Tear gas shot off at 2ish, dumpster fires are ignited. Great times. An MSU experience for sure.

The Wild Ride

One more exam on Monday, then I'm free untill the 3rd week in April. Exciting! I get to plan out my schedule, play a little guitar here and there, and chill out for once. These last 2 weeks have sucked, both mentally and physically. Thank god its almost all over.

Tomorrow has a lot of potential to be a great day to remember. Beat U of M on home turf, then give Nate a good send-off party. Gonna miss that guy, randomly wandering into our apartment trashed all the time, chillin out having a good convo with him. Good Luck in the Army Nate!!

so much for spring...

I broke the one cardinal rule I have of the season: once I hang up my winter jacket, its hung up till next winter. A blizzard in the morning isn't the best thing to wake up to in the spring, that's for sure.
I'm always amused by the graffiti art that is spray painted on the sidewalks. Some of it is just so clever, little phrases and pictures and all that jazz, hoping to get people thinking about it on their walk to class. I guess it works for me. "Kill your TV".. makes me think about my roommates quite a bit.. haha.

Crazy. One more month, then its finals week. Ridiculous. Gonna fly by for sure:
-U of M game this weekend. Hopefully we get a ton of people there, potential for a great day.
-Western next Saturday, that should be fun stayin there and partying that night.
-St. Louis the weekend after. Excited to see the whole fam and General!!
-Playoffs in Toledo the weekend after.
-Then its study time for finals all the next week.
-Then finals.
-Then Denver, hopefully.
-Then Texas for the summer.

Happy Easter...?

I never really understood this holiday, besides the fact that it has to do with stuff that's in the bible. Like, how did chicken eggs and bunnies get in the picture? And why are the bunnies hiding the eggs everywhere? Is the bunny not stealing the newly laid eggs from the chickens, then just abandoning them, hiding them in difficult places to find, relying on hope that someone will find them? What if this child does not find them, then what? The baby chicks will be killed, frozen to death. What is this bunny actually trying to teach our children? To steal, hide, and abandon newborns that they don't want in the first place; to commit this type of abortion which is against the bible?
The way I see it, this whole "holiday" is just one big oxymoronic type of a contradiction. People are celebrating the murders of many poor and innocent baby chicks, and mocking their lifeless souls by eating chick-looking peeps and other various types of chocolates. And to top it all off, some even kill the chick's mother just to have it for dinner that night. Talk about a slaughterhouse holiday...

It's spring!

There's nothing quite like seeing signs that Spring is here:
- Worms on the sidewalk.. wahoo!!
- Geese and ducks are back! as much as I hate geese.. they are a good sign.
- A beautiful day last Friday!
- How the high of everyday this week is above 30!
- RAIN! I can't wait for the thunderstorms..

I'm beyond ready for this semester to just be over. These exams are killing the mood right now.

The next 2 weeks are gonna blow like none other. Exams in every single one of my classes, along with 2 papers and an intense group project. Better get out the vasoline, cuz I'm about to get raped in the asssss! This is the time of school that I hate the most.. right after spring break where there's still 2 more months of school, even tho it seems like summer is right around the corner. The longest part of the year for sure. Blah.

Car's all fucked up. Nick filled up at a gas station that put water in their gas, now the car wont drive very far without stalling and "powering down". Hopefully its the fault of the station, seems to be since another car who filled up there is experiencing the same things. That way, they will pay for everything. If they refuse, they're getting their asses sued for sure. Then I can buy a brand new car! Yay!

I never knew long distance relationships could suck so bad. 2 months seems like a breeze compared to the last 7 months that we have been talking. Oh how wrong I am. Only been a week, but it feels like months since I've seen him. Gahhh. I'll survive... somehow. :-(

Waco = Wonderful

A few days away was all I needed.

Texas was amazing; the perfect getaway. The days were long, thus making a few days seem like I was there for weeks. Met so many amazing people, I cant wait to go back at then end of the semester and visit throughout the summer. Needless to say, "meeting the best friend and others" was a success. Next, time to meet the parents. Hopefully they'll like me too.. haha.

How many other people can say that in one night they: Beat the whole party at beer pong by themselves... making them think you were a Pro playing for USA at Beer Fest, got hit on by a bi-girl the whole night, Para-troopered out of a window in an attempt to escape from the cops, jumped back inside and hid out in a bathtub in an attempt to escape from the cops, and still continued the party full-force when the cops left? Haha what a great time.. definitely makes the list of a badass night in my book.

I wanna go back.

Lazy Days...

Lazy weekend. Layed around all yesterday and today, catching up on some relaxation time. Partied w/ Nick and co. last night, good times as usual. Saw many people from Athens, including the oh-so-hot Phil Shaheen. Definitely made my night.

I swear my apartment complex is haunted. I always see things out of the corner of my eye, like movements, but no one is there. And just now I saw in the window reflection someone walking into our kitchen. Creepy as fuck.

Update my life.

Tons has happened in the past week, but then again its the same old stuff. Rookie party was last Saturday, got completely blackout, dont remember half the night. But I know those rookies got pretty drunk, and did many push ups. haha. Shitterrrrs!

Exams went well so far, 2 more to go this month. Tired of studying all the time

AZ is aweek away.. SO PUMPED! Warm weather, lacrosse, what else is there? Yayy.

I'm beyond excited for spring break. Been talkin to Matty B a whole lot lately :-) It's weird knowing we've been talking to each other since the August.. 6 months. Makes me think our long distance relationship could actually work. There is hope! haha. We'll see where this goes after spring break.

Wow lots has happend since I last updated.. or not?

Nicks birthday weekend was last weekend. Total shitshow from 2pm on Friday til 12pm on Monday. Ridiculous. Thank you MLK for having a dream!

Got a tattoo with Nick and Phousse on his birthday. Didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. It was quite the experience.
Parents found out a week later, bitched us out, now they forgave us for our horrible mistake. Things are going well again! haha

School is school. 3 exams this week, haven't really studied for any of them.. oh well.

Gonna be yet another shitshow this weekend: Rookie party on Saturday, Supberbowl on Sunday. Good times to come!! Shitter rookies, they dont know whats comin to 'em! haha

Another weekend all to myself? Yes please! How exciting.

Its the start of a new year, that means new goals that will hopefully last all year. One of mine is working out, yet again. Been going good so far this week, lax on Mon and Tues; weights on Sun, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat. Keeping up with that on top of eating healthier foods, I should have the oh so great body that I've always wanted in hopefully a couple months. Lets hope I keep this up!

Now, Spring Break in Waco, TX. Not much of a SB destination for most people, but ideal for me.. haha. Hopefully this works out, that'd be exciting. :-)

Up until I read that book, I was Hem. Now, I'm striving to be more like Haw, Scurry, or Sniff.
It's a little cliche, but whatever works I guess.

Living for tomorrow?

During my whole life, I couldn't wait to grow up...

-When I was a young kid, I was aching to be in elementary school. Whenever I watched the classes having fun at recess and playing games, I wanted to be apart of that.
-When I was in elementary school, I wished I was in 4th and 5th grade, cuz it was so much cooler to be the top dog of the school. Plus we got to run the mile before lunch, something I couldn't wait to do.
-When I was away at 5th grade camp, I wanted to be just like the high school counselors and have fun with them instead of my classmates. I wished I could go back to Athens with them.
-When I was in 6th grade, my friends and I sat in the back of the bus, where all the 8th graders sat. They got so pissed at us. We were such badasses.
-All through high school, my friends were older than me. I felt that I fit into their class a lot better than my own. I wanted to graduate and go with them to college. The next year wasn't the same without them
-Now that I've been in college for almost 2 years and pretty much lived the "college experience", I'm ready to move on in the world, graduate, get a job, start my life. I feel like I'm wasting my time here, just going through the motions everyday. I just want to get out.

The same goes for the "coming of age" parts of life, I was always envious of people older than me. I can never just live for today. I'm always living for that next step, the next thing for me to do. Like right now, the major thing I'm living for is summer and hopefully getting this internship with TPWD. Then if I that, I'll live for the next big thing that comes up, whatever that may be.

I kinda wish I didn't live for tomorrow; I have to learn how to live for today.
